What I Drink in a Day as an Active Mom Prioritizing Hydration and Protein

The temperatures might be dropping, but my iced drinks arenโ€™t going anywhere. ๐Ÿ˜‚ As an active mom, Iโ€™m still prioritizing hydration and finding easy ways to work protein into my day.

And because plain water and I have a slightly complicated relationship, I like having a little variety! Hereโ€™s a look at what I drink throughout the day, including my daily protein coffee, a fun afternoon drink, and a creamy protein milkshake.

Before the Gym: Pre-Workout

I started my gym morning with Clean Simple Eats pre-workout in the freeze pop flavor.

How I make it: Mix with cold water according to the package directions, shake well, and add ice if desired. Easy!

After My Workout: C2O Organic Coconut Water

After my workout, I had some C2O Organic Coconut Water. It has naturally occurring electrolytes, simple ingredients, and a slightly sweet taste that gives me some variety in my hydration routine!

Throughout the Day: Water

Yes, plain water still makes an appearance, lol. I keep my water bottle nearby while Iโ€™m working, running errands, and doing all the mom things. Having it within reach makes it easier to remember to sip throughout the day.

With Breakfast: My Daily Iced Protein Latte

This is one of my favorite ways to work protein into breakfast. It tastes like a creamy iced latte and comes together in just a few minutes!

Makes 1 latte

Ingredients

  • About 160 mL Fairlife nonfat or 2% milk

  • 1 scoop Clean Simple Eats unflavored protein powder

  • 30 mL of your favorite coffee creamer (i ike chobani)

  • 2 shots espresso

  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Add the milk, protein powder, and creamer to a glass or shaker.

  2. Froth or shake until smooth.

  3. Fill a separate glass with ice and add the espresso.

  4. Pour the protein milk mixture over the espresso, stir, and enjoy!

My tip: Mix the protein into the cold milk first to help keep it smooth.

Afternoon: Shirley Temple Olipop

For an afternoon drink that feels a little more fun, I dress up a Shirley Temple Olipop with cherries and a splash of cherry juice. Very little effort, very cute result!!

Makes 1 drink

Ingredients

  • 1 can Shirley Temple Olipop

  • A few maraschino cherries

  • A small splash of juice from the cherry jar

  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Fill a glass with ice.

  2. Slowly pour in the Olipop.

  3. Add the cherries and a small splash of cherry juice.

  4. Give it a gentle stir and enjoy!

With Dinner: C2O Coconut Water

I poured a little glass of chilled C2O Organic Coconut Water to finish off my liter with dinner. I love adding a lime too!

Dessert: Creamy Protein Milkshake

Ending the day with something sweet is absolutely part of the routine. This milkshake combines protein ice cream, frozen banana, and Clean Simple Eats protein for a thick, creamy dessert, finished with coconut whip and cookie crumbles!! So freaking good.

Makes 1 milkshake

Ingredients

  • ยฝ cup milk

  • ยฝ cup protein ice cream

  • ยฝ scoop Clean Simple Eats protein powder

  • ยฝ frozen banana

  • ยฝ cup ice

  • Coconut whipped topping, to taste

  • A few cookie crumbles

Use your favorite protein powder and ice cream flavors!

Instructions

  1. Add the milk, protein ice cream, protein powder, frozen banana, and ice to a blender.

  2. Blend until thick and smooth, adding a small splash of milk if needed to help it blend.

  3. Pour into a glass.

  4. Top with coconut whip and a few cookie crumbles.

My tip: Keep the milk minimal to start, you can add more, but itโ€™s harder to get that thick milkshake texture back once youโ€™ve added too much!

Keeping It Simple and Repeatable

This is just a little snapshot of my day! Having drinks I enjoy and recipes that are easy to repeat helps me stay consistent with hydration and protein without making either feel like another complicated task.
