dot’s pretzel dupes
Salty snacks was a popular request when I asked y’all what things you wanted to see from me the other day! Thought this would be the perfect excuse to debut my Dot’s Pretzels Dupe. I tried out a lighter version of my FAVORITE snack using one of my go to healthier snack brands, @fromthegroundup! By using their Butternut Squash Pretzel Twists, I was able to keep these pretzels gluten free for my gluten intolerant friends, and they have macros that are easier to fit into my day. These would be a hit at any holiday gathering paired with a ranch based dips.
Macros: 34g c | 0g f | 16g p
Ingredients:
1 bag of From the Ground Up Butternut Squash Pretzels (or your favorite lighter brand of pretzels)
2 tbsp light butter, melted
1 tsbp olive oil
4 tbsp ranch seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried dill
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Directions:
Heat oven to 250°F. Melt butter in a small bowl in the microwave in 10-15 second intervals. Once the butter melts, add in the olive oil and mix.
Add the butter mixture to the bag of pretzels (you can also do this in a large bowl but TBH I just added straight to the bag because who wants another dish to clean) and shake until all the pretzels are coated evenly. Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix, and all of your other seasonings in the bag, and shake again until the seasonings are evenly distributed.
Spread the pretzels on a baking sheet, and bake until the pretzels are dry to the touch and cripsy, about 15-20 minutes (this is for the gluten free kind – may be less time with regular pretzels so check often depending on what kind you buy), shaking the pan a few times during the cooking time. Cool for 5 minutes before serving, and store leftovers (if there is any!) in an airtight container.
