easy caramelized onion dip
The onion dip you know and love, with a high protein twist!
This dip is creamy, tangy, and packed with protein, thanks to blended cottage cheese and Greek yogurt—and the caramelized onions on top? Absolute perfection.
Whether you’re hosting or need a crowd-pleasing dish, this dip is a holiday must-have. Because tasty can also be better for you!
Serves 8; MACROS: 6g p / 5g c / 0g f ; 42 cals
Ingredients:
1/2 cup blended cottage cheese
1.25 cups nonfat greek yogurt
2 tbsp light mayo
1 packet onion dip mix
1 tsp olive oil
large pinch of salt and pepper
1/2 yellow onion, thinly sliced
chives for topping
Directions:
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Stir in the sliced onions with a big pinch of salt and pepper. Cover, and cook, stirring often, until the onions are dark brown and caramely, about 15 minutes. Keep an eye on them and stir often. Add a splash of water to the pan if it gets dry at any time.
While the onions cook, prepare your dip. Mix together the blended cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and dip mix until combined. Top with caramelized onions and chives!
I like to serve mine with a crinkle cut chip like Good Crisp! You can also add veggies to dip in them .
Enjoy!
