protein brookies

Once described by Jim Becker as “melt in your mouth good” and “like crack”, these Protein Brookies are INSANE. The brookies pack more protein than your average dessert, making them the perfect sweet treat when you’re watching your macros AND indulge in some chocolatey goodness.

MACROS PER BROWNIE: 30g c / 6g p / 4g f 

Ingredients:

Ingredients for cookie layer:

  • 1 scoop @iheartmacros vanilla protein powder (my favorite for baking!)

  • 1 tbsp coconut flour

  • 1 tbsp Truvia (or other low calorie sweetener)

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

  • 4 tbsp egg whites

  • 1 tsp extract

  • ⅓ cup Lily’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Ingredients for the brownie layer:

  • 1 box of Pillsbury Sugar-Free Brownie Mix

  • ⅓ cup applesauce

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tbsp water

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
    In a large bowl, coconut flour, protein powder, Stevia, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In another large bowl, add egg, almond milk, banana, and agave syrup.

  3. Whisk together all wet ingredients.

  4. Once the wet ingredients are mixed, slowly add in the dry ingredients and continue mixing.

  5. Add chocolate chips and sprinkles to batter, and fold them in, DAVID!

  6. Once the batter is ready, pour batter into a small bread baking dish sprayed with nonstick spray.

  7. Bake for about 2-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  8. Let cool and slice into 8 pieces!
