Saltine Cracker Candy aka “Christmas Crack”

If you haven’t tried Saltine Cracker Candy aka “Christmas Crack”, listen up…it’s the BEST, incredibly easy to make and cheap! Makes a great holiday dessert or even a gift. We’re putting these in tubs with gift cards for huddy buddy’s teachers!

Ingredients:
35-40 saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar
2 cups dark chocolate chips (we like Lily’s Sweets)
Sprinkles, crushed candy cane, sea salt, nuts...whatever you want to top it with!

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or a silicone baking sheet and spray with cooking spray.

Place your saltine crackers in even rows (I usually have to do a row of 1/2 crackers to fit) and then set aside.

In a pot over medium high heat melt the butter and brown sugar and whisk. Let it boil for a few minutes. Add the brown sugar before the butter is melted to make sure it combines well!

Pour the butter mixture over the saltines and spread out.Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and let it sit for few minutes or pop it back in the oven for a minute or two to make them start melting.

After it’s sat for a few, spread the chocolate over the Saltines and sprinkle with whatever toppings you choose. Let it harden in the fridge (or freezer if you’re pressed for time).

Break up into chunks/pieces and place in a fun tin or gift bag to share!
